The goal

I was contacted by Peak Systems Inc to take on this project. The objective was to efficiently upgrade the memory (RAM) in every user PC, both leased and owned, for a prominent call center of a major auto manufacturer. Over five months, I upgraded the RAM in 672 units.

How it was done

  • 20-minute sessions: each upgrade was done in a short window to keep downtime and disruption to the call center’s operations to a minimum.
  • Personal communication: I stayed in direct contact with the client to make sure their needs were met and to keep them updated on progress.
  • Extra maintenance: while each machine was open, I cleaned it out to help it run better and last longer.

The result

Every one of the 672 PCs was upgraded while the call center kept running, giving agents faster, more responsive machines without interrupting the work of taking calls.
