The project

For U.S. Bank, one of the largest banks in the United States, I worked as a field engineer on a refresh of both PCs and tablets. The focus was on seamless upgrades and user-focused support, helping modernize the bank’s equipment without getting in the way of serving customers.

Computers and tablets

Refreshing tablets alongside PCs means setting up two kinds of devices, each with its own setup steps, and making sure staff are comfortable with both. The aim is the same either way: a new device that’s ready to use, and a user who can get right back to work.

What the work involves

  • Deploying new PCs and tablets and setting them up for each user.
  • Moving users over from their old devices with their files and settings intact.
  • Hands-on, user-focused support so staff know their new equipment.
  • Scheduling around the bank’s day so customers aren’t affected.

How I work on projects like this

  • On time, every time: clients count on my timeliness and dependability, especially when the schedule is tight.
  • Built for live environments: I work around production so people can keep doing their jobs while their equipment is upgraded.
  • Direct communication: I keep the client and their staff updated from start to finish.
  • Strong troubleshooting: experience across every phase of computer systems means problems get solved on the spot instead of holding up the schedule.
